Two years ago Wikimedia ZA conceptualized  hosting the biggest gathering of all African Wikimedians. This  took place in Johannesburg , South Africa. In pursuance of the vision of the pioneers of the first Wiki Indaba in 2014, Wiki Indaba is happening again in 2017.

This year’s edition will come off from the 20th to 22nd January 2017 in Accra, Ghana and it is under the theme”Building sustainable Communities for the Growth of Wikipedia in Africa”. It is being organized by members of the Wikimedia Community in collaboration with Open Foundation West Africa (OFWA).

This year’s conference promises to include insightful and a fun packed activities. Participants should expect highlights such as keynote speeches, panel discussions, breakout sessions and others. It also promises to be exciting with tours to interesting places in Accra.
