At OFWA we believe in causes that support the work we do.We undertake advocacy campaigns around themes which help further our causes. These include the themes like Open education, GLAM, copyleft, internet affordability, justice and security.
Education is at the core of all our our activities in view of this we contribute in our small way to make,plans, policies and interventions around Open Education realized.
GLAM in the Open Source parlance is an an acronym that stands for Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums. These four sectors are the building blocks for open education. Our work therefore encompass all these sectors either one of these sectors or some are always the basis for any work or project we undertake.
In pursuance of the goal of promoting open education and open resources, OFWA has supervisory campus based Ashesi Wiki Club on the Ashesi University that it set up. There is also a subregional group African Wikimedia Developers Group headquartered in Ghana but operating on the West Africa subregion and beyond.
